For new businesses starting from scratch
Not sure where to start? That's normal.
Starting a business is busy enough without trying to work out domains, email, Google listings and websites on your own. Most new business owners we talk to aren't sure what they need, what it should cost, or what order to do things in.
That's where we come in. We'll guide you through the whole launch, step by step, and we can do as much or as little of it for you as you like.
What you'll need, in order
- Your domain name. Your web address, such as yourbusiness.com.au. It's worth choosing early, as it shapes your email address and branding. .com.au and .au names need an ABN.
- Business email. An address like [email protected] looks more professional than a Gmail address, and it's yours to keep.
- Google Business Profile. Your free listing on Google Maps and search. For many local businesses, it brings in customers before the website does.
- Your website. A clear, fast, mobile-friendly site that explains what you do, who for and how to get in touch. It can start small and grow with you.
- Getting found. Search basics, reviews and directory listings, so customers can find you on Google and AI assistants like ChatGPT.
We can set up all of it for you, or just the parts you'd rather not do yourself.
Start with a free website plan
Answer a few questions about your business and get a personalised plan in a couple of minutes. It covers the type of website you need, which pages to include, the features that matter, a content checklist, domain name ideas and typical running costs.
A website to start with
You don't need a big website on day one. Many new businesses start with a simple one-page or small website, then add pages, bookings or an online shop as they grow.
- One-page starter. Everything on one well-organised page: what you do, who for, why choose you and how to get in touch. Typically ready in 2–3 weeks once your content is ready.
- Small business website. A handful of pages, with one for each main service. Typically 3–4 weeks.
- Room to grow. Add online booking, an online shop or more pages later, without starting again.
Every website is quoted at a fixed price, so you'll know exactly what you're paying before we start. See What we cost for hosting and running costs.
Help before the website
Sometimes a new business needs to work out its offer before it needs a website: who it's for, what to charge and how to stand out. Jon has helped dozens of business owners through those early decisions, and it's something cheap template builders can't give you.

Frequently asked questions
- How much does a website cost for a new business? It depends on the size and features you need. A simple starter site costs much less than an online shop. Our free website plan gives you an idea, and we'll give you a fixed quote before we start.
- How long does it take? Most starter websites take 2 to 6 weeks. The biggest factor is usually how quickly your text and photos come together.
- Do I need a website if I have a Facebook page? A Facebook page is a good start, but you don't own it and it's harder to find on Google. A website gives you a home online that's yours, and it works alongside your social media.
- What domain name should I choose? Ideally your business name, ending in .com.au. Keep it short, easy to spell and easy to say. Our website plan suggests a few options and checks they're available.
- Can I start small and add more later? Yes. We build sites so you can add pages, bookings or an online shop as your business grows.
